Two killed in fight over tandoori roti at Indian wedding

At least two have been killed over a dispute on who would get tandoori roti first at a wedding in Uttar Pradesh, India.The fight escalated in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, India on May 3, leaving two guests, aged 17 and 18, dead, reports India Today.  Ravi Kumar, aka Kallu, 18, and a 17-year-old got into a verbal argument that quickly turned violent as they began attacking each other with sticks, which led to severe injuries to both of them. The 17-year-old died on the spot, while Ravi succumbed to his injuries on the way to the trauma centre. Read more: Father shoots daughter days before wedding Ramjeevan Varma, the father of the bride, told the media that everyone was busy with wedding preparations when they were suddenly informed about a fight. “We were all busy working when suddenly we were informed that a fight had broken out. When we reached the spot, the boys had already been fighting and had injured themselves badly. All of this happened over a roti,” he said. Gairiganj Circle Officer Akhilesh Varma said police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Further action will be taken based on the report’s findings.
