When Alia Bhatt shows up as a bridesmaid, you know the fashion game is going to be strong. At her friend Tanya Saha Gupta’s wedding in Spain, Alia gave us not one but three effortless bridesmaid looks that had the internet (and us) swooning. From laid-back glam at the mehendi to ethereal elegance at the white wedding and a glam fusion look at the main ceremony, each one was a lesson in keeping it fresh, fun, and fuss-free, just like Alia herself!
Mehendi/ Haldi
For the haldi, Alia Bhatt slayed hard in what possibly is a new trend! She wore a custom-made, multi-colour, multi-panel bandhani skirt paired with a vintage mirror-embroidered crop choli, detailed with kodi shell and mirror tassels by Arpita Mehta. The best part about the look was the matching purple bandhani headscarf, which is a bridesmaid trend to watch out for!
Wedding
For the sangeet and baraat, Alia Bhatt served up a modern twist on fusion fashion in a striking ivory ensemble. She wore a pearl-detailed, super-cropped bralette blouse paired with a high-waisted, pleated chiffon skirt in a saree drape silhouette, both signature Shantanu & Nikhil. Adding a touch of drama, she layered it with a menswear-inspired longline sherwani jacket, left open at the front. The structured piece featured intricate dori embroidery, pearls, and delicate flora-fauna motifs, finished with a Mandarin collar. Her accessories included a pearl-encrusted rectangular clutch by the designer duo, sunglasses, and a chunky white bead and kundan choker for that perfect blend of edgy and elegant. Loving how she has paired the gold-rimmed Gucci sunglasses with both the looks, which are so different from each other!
White Wedding
To kick off the wedding morning in style, Alia slipped into a stunning custom black gown by Rahul Mishra. The off-shoulder silhouette was elevated with intricate embellishments, a dramatic peplum detail on one side of the waist, and a bold thigh-high slit. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the look was finished with sparkly closed-toe heels and statement Swarovski floral stud earrings that added just the right amount of glam.

Alia Bhatt’s Cannes Debut in Gucci: A Saree Moment That Broke the Internet
Outfit by Gucci
For her highly anticipated appearance at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival as a global ambassador for Gucci, Alia Bhatt turned heads in the most unexpected way, by merging Indian elegance with Italian luxury. Ditching the usual gowns and corsets, Alia made a bold statement in a custom Gucci saree, proving once again that homegrown silhouettes can hold their own on the world’s biggest red carpets. The ivory saree was a masterclass in quiet luxury. Featuring delicate gold sequin embroidery and a subtle sheen, it was draped in an ultra-modern, fuss-free way that felt both timeless and fresh. The blouse? A strapless structured piece, brought a contemporary edge to the otherwise classic ensemble, perfectly balancing tradition and trend.
