From the most happening sangeet to the main wedding, people make a lot of effort to make the celebrations memorable. However, the Great Indian Wedding has just gotten a new ‘fake’ twist. It can be anything, ranging from fake ceremonies to staged baarat or even a complete fake wedding.

A Dubai-based events firm is actually making it happen by offering customers the option to hold a “Farzi Sangeet,” thus cutting off the stress of relatives, hard work, and all the drama.

In short, guests pay a small amount to attend the ceremony, dance their hearts out, enjoy good food, and go back home without any trouble. One such event was recently held in Dubai, drawing several guests from the Indian diaspora.

Content creator Safia, who was also among the guests, shared a video of the sangeet party. In her video, dozens of people can be seen gathered under the same roof to dance and eat together.

“Ever wanted to attend an Indian wedding without the drama and without an invite? Here’s a farzi groom and bride squad where there’s no bride or groom but just the right vibes with live street food counters, a DJ, photo booths, tattoo henna, surprise gifts, glitter art, and much more,” Safia said in the video, as she takes viewers inside the venue.

In the video, one can see the guests decked up in complete ethnic attire, just as they would do at a normal wedding. The unmatched music and food remained the highlights. The most exciting part? There were no relatives around!

“What? A FARZI SANGEET!!!! Never thought this could be a real concept/theme for a party! What do you think of this fun concept? For the first time in Dubai, Farzi Sangeet Nights has made an entry! Fake Grooms & Brides Squad, Dhol, DJ, Photobooths, Henna stalls, Street food, and MUCH MORE! Just pure vibes,” the influencer wrote in the caption.

The unique concept caught the attention of many on social media, as people took to the comment section and echoed similar sentiments. One wrote, “Looks fun… I too want to experience thissss,” while another added, “Yaar, being in DUBAI, I actually miss this… going to attend the next one for sure.”

“This is great! We’ve been doing farzi dholki for years.. Just dress up and party with no real people getting married,” a comment read.

Notably, a Farzi Sangeet is just another addition to this ongoing ‘fake wedding’ trend. Several major clubs, including Lord of the Drinks in Jabalpur, organise such events in India.
