The Indian Wedding Industry Association (IWIA) was officially launched on February 10, 2026, at Le Méridien, New Delhi, in the presence of Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General, Ministry of Tourism, senior professionals from the wedding industry, and members of the media.
Addressing the gathering, Arun Srivastava highlighted the significant evolution of the wedding industry over the past few decades. He said, “Weddings in India have transitioned from being family-organised ceremonies to highly systemised, controlled and choreographed events, planned and executed by teams of professionals. IWIA is a step in that direction, bringing industry stakeholders under a common umbrella.”
He further emphasised that destination weddings present strong opportunities as economic multipliers and job generators, drawing attention to the Government of India’s ‘Wed in India’ campaign and the promotion of India’s diverse and unique venues to strengthen the country’s positioning in the global wedding market.
Neeraj Dhawan, Founder and Chairman, Raghubir Singh, Founder and President, and Barun Gupta, Founder and Vice President, outlined the ethos and vision behind IWIA. They spoke about the association’s commitment to shaping the future of the Indian wedding industry through collaborative advocacy, education and innovation.
