In many Indian traditions, rain on a wedding day is regarded as a good sign, representing blessings, fertility and a strong, lasting partnership. It is thought to represent cleansing, renewal and a fresh start for the couple. But there is a myth surrounding this: many desis believe that when it rains on your wedding day, the groom or bride might have eaten in an iron kadhai (wok). Now, a video on the same belief and fallacy has gone viral.
In the video, a groom can be seen entering his wedding venue amid heavy rain. His family, relatives and friends stand under a protective area to avoid getting wet. The camera first pans in on the groom speaking with a member of his family before turning around to face the throng, who are all smiling and joking with one another.
