Jersey City Foodies Get Another “Shot” with Meximodo

Less than two years after shaking up Metuchen’s dining scene, Meximodo is back — and bolder than ever! This stylish, vibrant, and record-breaking Mexican restaurant and tequila bar has officially arrived in the heart of Downtown Jersey City, now in its soft-opening phase at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive.

Known for its perfect blend of authentic street flavors and elevated dining, Meximodo’s menu features mouthwatering favorites like birria tacos and street-style corn, alongside creative entrées such as pollo con mole, cauliflower al pastor, and mushroom enchiladas.

Founder Saurabh Abrol shared the inspiration behind the brand: 

“Some of my friends were tired of going to the city, so we created a whiskey lounge, Le Malt Lounge. Then I realized the Mexican scene was missing something — it was either high-end in New York or small mom-and-pop spots, which are amazing, but I wanted to create something unique. A space that truly captures the culture of Mexico in an environment everyone can enjoy. That’s how Meximodo began.”

In addition to its bold flavors and stunning interiors, Meximodo holds a Guinness World Record for the largest tequila collection on the planet — yes, the planet!

Whether it’s their signature Old Fashioned, a classic Margarita, or an inventive new mix, every drink tells a story.

Adding to its allure, Meximodo is launching their first ever Locker Program for spirits and wines — a “locker-to-table” concept that lets members safely store their favorite spirits and have them served whenever they visit.

These memberships are for everyone — from small groups to corporate tiers, up to 24 members. You can pay monthly or upfront, depending on your preference.
