Pakistani actress Laiba Khan recently tied the knot, but when she posted the beautiful wedding pictures, it put her at the centre of criticism.
The 29-year-old actress, who has more than 4 million followers on Instagram, shared glimpses of her big day, and the photos quickly went viral on social media.
In the pictures, the Kaffara actress is seen wearing a red bridal lehenga, intricately embellished with delicate gold embroidery, dabka, tilla, and sequin work.
She paired the outfit with deep green and golden polki jewellery, which includes a maang tikka, necklace, nose ring, and earrings.
However, the traditional Indian bridal bangles (chooda) on her hands, the style of dupatta draping with the lehenga, and the distinctive floral garlands worn by the bride and groom raised questions about the inspiration behind their look.
In the comments section, while many netizens praised the Mohra actor’s bridal appearance, others accused her of copying Indian actress Katrina Kaif.
Some users expressed displeasure, labelling her look as a “Hindu bride look,” while others mocked the situation, saying that Indian brides try to follow Pakistani trends, and Pakistani brides end up copying Indian styles.
The Dastoor actress’s wedding events were an intimate affair, with only close family members and friends in attendance.
The mehndi and qawwali ceremonies were held in Karachi, attended by a few well-known figures from the entertainment industry, including Feroze Khan, Tuba Anwar, Yasir Hussain, Maria Malik and others.
