Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro launched in India: Top specs, price and all you need to know

Vivo has just launched the V29 and the V29 Pro in India and the two phones pack quite a punch with high-end specs and an impressive design. The V29 was launched globally in August this year while the V29 Pro has been exclusively launched for India. With exciting colour options, a sleek design, and promising camera performance, the V29 and V29 Pro are decent options for people looking for a new smartphone in the mid-range segment.

The V29 comes in three colour options — Himalayan Blue, Majestic Red and Space Black. The V29 Pro, on the other hand, has only two colour options, the Himalayan Blue and Space Black.

Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro launched in India: Top specs

Design: Both Vivo V29 and V29 Pro feature a sleek design. The phones come with a curved screen that gives them a premium look. At the back, there is a camera module that houses three camera lenses, an LED flash and the smart Aura light. At the bottom edge of both phones there is a Type-C charging port, SIM tray, and a set of speakers. The right edge houses the power and volume buttons. The V29 weighs around 186 gram while the V29 Pro weighs around 188 gram.

Display: Both phones feature a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ certification. The peak brightness is 1300 nits and the pixel density is 452 PPI.

Processor: V29 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset while the V29 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor.

Camera: Both phones feature a triple camera setup. The V29 has a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS paired with an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and a 2-megapixel bokeh lens. The V29 Pro houses a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, 12-megapixel portrait lens and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. There is also a 50-megapixel front camera in both the phones.

Battery: Both phones have a 4600 mAh (TYP) battery with 80W flash charge support. Vivo claims that when put on charging, the phone can reach from 0 to 50 in just 18 minutes.

Smart Aura light: With the V29 series, Vivo has introduced the Smart Aura light. It enhances camera performance in low-lighting conditions. The smart Aura light turns warm when placed in a warm light scene and it can turn cold, in an almost white colour, in situations where there is a cold light scene.

3D particle design: The Vivo V29 Pro Himalayan Blue colour comes with a unique 3D particle design that creates a floating mountain texture at the back panel. The V29, on the other hand, features a colour-changing back panel.

Wedding Style portrait: With the V29 series, Vivo has launched a filter available exclusively for Indians, the Wedding Style Portrait. It has three different colour scheme options and promises to capture some great shots in an Indian wedding scenario.

Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro launched in India: Price and availability

The V29 comes in two storage options- the 8 GB + 128 GB variant and the 12 GB + 256 GB. The 128GB storage variant costs Rs 32,999 while the 256 storage variant will be up for grabs for Rs 36,999.

The V29 Pro, on the other hand, comes in 8GB + 256 GB storage option and the 12 GB + 256 GB storage variant. There is no 512 GB variant. The 8GB RAM variant costs Rs 39,999 while the 12 GB RAM variant will be up for grabs for Rs 42,999.

Talking about availability, pre-orders for both phones start from today. The Vivo V29 Pro will go on sale on October 10 while the V29 will be available from October 17. The phones will be available online at Vivo’s official website and Flipkart. In-store, the phones will be available at exclusive Vivo stores as well as other retail stores like Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales and Bajaj Electronics, among others.
