Despite their outsider status with no previous ties to the film world, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have made a significant mark as actors in the industry. Therefore, their fans joyously celebrated their wedding, feeling a deep connection with the couple.
Meanwhile, Richa recently disclosed details about their official wedding, which took place in 2020, two years before they publicly announced it. Explaining that got married under the Special Marriage Act due to their different religious backgrounds, she told Bollywood Bubble: “In that, they display your name (on the notice board) for a month. I think it’s an absurd rule because India is known for things like marriage-related problems like honour killing. The notice is issued publicly. Our wedding remained secret, coinciding with the Covid era when no one was going to the family court. Fortunately, we were able to avoid unwanted attention as these matters typically become public and can’t be restrained.”

When asked how the marital life was going, Richa responded with great enthusiasm, stating that it was “very nice and lovely”. Richa was last seen in Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s recent comedy Fukrey 3.
Though the couple planned for a wedding celebration in 2020, they had to postpone it due to the pandemic. However, they got legally married then but celebrated their union with friends and family in 2022.

In another recent chat, with News18, she said: “The family court was right around the corner. And it was super peaceful. And I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary. It happens in society, which is why there is a very big act for it. Of course, I feel like media really makes these kinds of things, it’s actually terrible and is very corrosive for society.”

Meanwhile, Richa and Ali will soon be seen in a documentary about their wedding titled ‘RiAlity’. In a statement about their wedding documentary, Ali previously said, “RiAlity is a testament to the fact that love is not always perfect, but it is always enough . Love is profound, it is messy, and yet worth moving worlds for. RiAlity captures some of the essence of our journey, not just as actors but as two regular people in love.”
