People are increasingly writing poetry on various topics and in all languages,” said Vasant Dahake, noted poet and president of the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, who will recite his work at the Deccan Literature Festival 2023.Along with Dahake, other Marathi poets such as Narayan Kulkarni, Mahesh Keluskar, Indrajit, Mamata Sindhutai Sapkal, and Balaji Sutar, among others would also participate in the Don Shatakanchya Sandhyavaril Marathi Kavita on Saturday.“In the earlier editions, we have had small gatherings outside the main hall where poets shared their work and interacted with attendees. This year, we have made an effort to provide a platform to local Marathi poets. On day one, we will have a Marathi Kavi Sammelan featuring young and senior poets, who will share new perspectives and themes through their rhymes,” said Jairam Kulkarni, director of Dakani Adab Foundation.Attendees will also get an opportunity to experience ghazals, qawwalis and shayari by esteemed artists.“From Sufism to political satire, personal experiences to inner reflection, social issues to frivolities, shayars are leaving no stone unturned to find inspiration,” said Iqbal Ashhar, who has been singing ghazals for 25 years.While the festival is free and open to all, we would like the enthusiasts to make prior registrations on www.deccanlitfest.com.The two-day festival will also witness distinguished guests such as actor Saurabh Shukla, theatre personalities like Salim Arif, Padma Shri Waman Kendre, authors Devdutt Pattanaik, Sudha Menon and Marathi writers Pravin Bandekar, Meghana Pethe and Asaram Lomate.The event, organised by the Dakani Adab Foundation, will be held at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir from November 25.We also published the following articles recently
