Mumbai: The impending nuptials of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant have stirred both excitement and controversy in Mumbai, as reports surface of significant traffic disruptions caused by police measures to facilitate the private event.

According to recent updates, several parts of the city have seen traffic rerouted to accommodate the wedding preparations. The decision to block traffic routes in Mumbai has sparked public outrage, with many questioning the justification for disrupting daily life to facilitate a private celebration. “When did the personal event of an industrialist become a public concern?” asked one resident on social media platform X.

Many users have shared their comments on the matter. One said, “Mumbai traffic will be at a standstill because the government is treating the Ambani wedding like a public holiday! Who needs to get to work or school when we can all celebrate a billionaire’s big day?”

Criticism has been particularly directed at the timing of the event, which clashes with peak traffic hours rather than scheduling during less busy periods like late evenings or nights. This decision has compounded frustrations among commuters who now face even greater challenges navigating the city’s streets.

Comedian Varun Grover also took to X to share his comment by retweeting the traffic advisory issued by Mumbai Traffic Police, “Monarchy creating anarchy.”

However, some netizens also said that this is not an unusual thing, “Bro, in every wedding I’ve attended or seen, the normal public gets disturbed as they block the streets, put up tents, play loud music all night, and during baraat they literally create huge traffic jams. It’s not something unusual with Ambani’s alone.”

The upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant has generated significant buzz as the event draws closer. Scheduled over three days from July 12 to July 14, this extravagant Indian wedding is set to capture the attention of media and fans alike.
